HandsOn Network Youth Action Center Rings the NASDAQ Stock Market Closing Bell
July 20, 2009 - HandsOn Network Youth Action Center
About this Marketsite Event:

Representatives from HandsOn Network Youth Action Center will preside over the closing bell.

About HandsOn Network and the HandsOn Network Youth Action Center:

HandsOn Network Inspires, Equips and Mobilizes People to Take Action that Changes the World.

The new HandsOn Youth Action Center brings together the world's largest network of HandsOn volunteer action centers with New York based Children for Children, a premier youth service provider to reach all children in their schools and communities and to bring them the opportunities, resources and life-changing benefits of service.

The Youth Action Center's programs work directly with and for students by providing them with the tools to create and lead activities that promote change and civic-consciousness across the nation. These initiatives now reach more than 130,000 young people and are important vehicles to engage thousands more children and adults in service. The foundation of our work is active, direct service by and for young people and service-learning, a hybrid of instruction and youth-driven, community-focused learning.

The Youth Action Center provides:

* Service curriculum for teachers and parents to bring service to
  their classrooms and communities
* School revitalization projects that further support academic
service curricula and contribute to a meaningful shift in school
  culture
* Direct service opportunities that increase leadership skills for
  youth
* Early childhood engagement programming to promote social and
  cognitive development
* Service Clubs that provide opportunities for families to
volunteer together, extending school-learning to home and the
  community

Don't miss out on your opportunity to Be The Change. We are here to help!
